What happens on the day?
Fresh air! Turn up at the designated time and place (dressed for the outdoors, with water if it's hot). You may be asked to buy a ticket to cover beer and other minor costs. This will be a minimal amount as the House isn't in it to make money! You may also have a "H3" T Shirt (which should remain unwashed from a previous Hash run). Also, wear old shoes. Those wearing new shoes may have to down a beer in that shoe in the bar later! All part of having a good time.
The "Hare" will lay (or may have already laid) a trail. You will follow trail and try to get to the end first, although most people will walk it as a large group (usually with beer in hand). The trail will show arrows but, beware, many of these arrows will lead you down a wrong path. You can then cross out that arrow and backtrack to the main group. There will be beer stations at a couple of checkpoints on the 'run'. Only the hare knows the route!
When the run is over and everyone has assembled in a central meeting point (possibly the same as the starting point), Hashers will then have another beer, assess the Hare's performances and head to the designated Hash House bar for a jolly old time with forfeits and plenty more cold beers! All in all, a great day out!
Everyone is welcome. You don't have to be fit or a drinker! 'Hunan H3' Hashers come from all walks of life and just want to have a bit of fun and a few drinks. Contact us or keep this page bookmarked for future runs and H3 news!
