Hunan's own 'new energy' automobile company chairman, Chen Weiqiang, helped to jointly launch the Geely Holding Group and Kangdi technology group project. Mr Chen went on to say that "[this] is mainly to promote new energy, now the environmental pollution is too serious,". This initiative follows on from a similar test project in Hangzhou which met with a good level of public approval.
